I have been producing mainly works of The Tale of Genji by hand-drawn Yuzen.
The title "Spring is coming" refers to the sign that spring is coming soon, but I hope that it will be an exhibition of works where you can feel the soft light in the new year. In addition, we will exhibit seasonal tapestries, noren, and accessories. Thank you for your continued support.
The Yuzen dyeing technique devised in the Edo period has been passed down among us through the form of kimono. However, lifestyles have become Westernized, and there are fewer opportunities to wear kimonos in modern times. It has been a long time since people have been told to move away from kimonos, but ironically, as the number of tourists from overseas increases, they have become more aware of their own culture, and the kimono culture has also been reconsidered. I would like to create not only Yuzen as a kimono, but also as an interior that is suitable for modern living spaces using the hand-painted Yuzen technique.
