❷Title What the memories of the sea and blue awaken
A part of a painting written specifically for Cecilia's solo exhibition to be held in Japan in July 2024. Since it will be printed on canvas, I chose a part that is easy to catch the eye.
Recently, Cecilia has been interested in collective consciousness, and she paints images that we humans have in common, beyond individual thoughts, and things that please the heart. This method of painting is a bit unusual, and she does not decide what to paint at first. After preparing the base, as she looks at the painting, she captures the shapes that come into view and paints men and women overlapping.
As a metaphor, this represents the union of yin and yang and the source power from which it arises.
