"I started painting when I was very young. At first, I was drawing my favorite manga drawings, and I dreamed of becoming a manga artist in the future. It was the first time in elementary school. I continued to draw as it was, and it was quite recently that I started to think about working as an artist in earnest. I create works with cat motifs. I have been living with cats since the first half of elementary school until only about 5 years ago. Even before I picked up my first stray cat, I always felt that I liked animals in general, but when a cat came to my house, I fell in love with cats even more."
The author, who loves animals but has never lived with cats, was intrigued by Akane's story and asked her a difficult question, "What would happen if you asked Akane to summarize the cuteness of cats in one word?" According to Akane, the cute thing about cats is that they are "whimsical".
"Cats are like running amok in the room, and they are quite capricious to the extent that their owners are swayed around, but I enjoy living a life of being swayed by cats."

Suddenly gorgeous.
"I choose acrylic paint as an art material, and sometimes I use molded canvas. I have found canvases that have been hollowed out in a circle and painted my works. I like to draw beautiful things around cute cats in a quick and gorgeous way. Basically, I draw it after the cats of my family."
Akane, who says that she likes flashy colors, says that if her daily fashion is cool, she tries to make sure that the colors are clearly saturated. In the crisp colors, you can also see fine color gradations on the cat's body parts. Since the work is made using acrylic, which is not prone to gradation, this color scheme is probably the highlight of Akane's skills.
"I overlap and mix colors to express the gradation of the cat's body hair. Acrylic basically does not naturally mix colors with the colors next to it, so I will express the difference in color with my own hands. The colors were clear and beautiful, so I was attracted to acrylic paints. I used a variety of art materials several times, but in the end, I repeatedly came back to acrylic."

Combining with the nature that comes to mind
"After aiming to become a manga artist as a child, I realized that I like drawing, but I can't think of stories on my own, and I became interested in working as an illustrator. So I attended the illustration department of Kodansha Famous Schools for four years. Although it is a correspondence school, I learned very carefully while having the actual work mailed and corrected. Currently, I use my days off and make good use of my early morning time on normal days to create. Sometimes I wake up at 5 o'clock and draw. If you start drawing, such as drawing a single work in about a week, the speed is fast, but ......sometimes you don't come up with an idea and get lost."
When developing ideas for the work, he seems to have the idea of "how to draw a model cat cutely." Sometimes a motif that should be combined suddenly comes to mind, and sometimes it comes to mind that I want to incorporate this color while looking at the scenery.
"All the cats that came to my house were stray cats, but once I put them in the house, I loved them all the time after that. So in fact, I have never seen cats surrounded by flowers and mushrooms like in my work. I think my style of work is to combine the model cat with the nature that comes to mind.
