Oriental flower and bird painting is a traditional genre of painting that has colored people's living spaces since ancient times and has been popular as a barrier painting in Japan since the Muromachi period. It is not just a sketch, but has played a role in entrusting people's wishes for peace and happiness by infusing the motifs with allegories such as auspiciousness, longevity, and wealth.
I am inheriting this traditional role in the present day and working on the project. When I paint flower and bird paintings, I always put my soul into each brushstroke along with my thoughts about the space in which the painting is displayed. My teacher is the "forming of nature" itself, which has perfect harmony with all the activities of life in nature. Please enjoy a group of works that combine these materials and Japan techniques with a long history, such as silk books, washi paper, ink, and pigments, with a modern aesthetic eye. It is breathed with the vibrant beauty of nature, which brings tranquility and joy to the hearts of those who see it.
