Watercolor Story

I stopped drawing at all for nearly 10 years after I quit being a manga artist, but when I had time for myself, I started drawing using the leftover watercolors that my children had at home. The transparent and beautiful world of colors, bleeding, and blurring once again taught me the joy of drawing. Watercolor is familiar and easy to use, and although I am still in the process of studying, I find it very enjoyable. When I was a manga artist, I drew several story manga, but now I draw on a piece of paper, in a momentary scene, with the thoughts of the story. The story features the main character. I stick to the face of the main character. I draw while imagining how his or her expression will change in the future. And there is an end to the story, but there is no end to a picture. I would be very happy if you could look at my paintings and imagine the story before and after you think.

My origins lie in the manga I loved when I was a child. I would be happy if you could feel a momentary scene that seems to have been cut out of a part of the story from the work I draw. I have been greatly influenced by ukiyo-e, which was loved by the public during the Edo period, and I would like to create works that can once again convey the splendor of Japan's paintings.
