I mainly use Japan art materials to create my work.
"Paradise in everyday life"
Using the innocent and adorable existence of cats and children, as well as ordinary beings such as flowers and plants on the roadside, I am searching every day to draw pictures of everyday scenes that feel peace, nostalgia, and longing like a paradise.
Drawing a sleeping cat
Currently, I mainly focus on domestic cats, but I am particularly focused on sleeping cats.
Why "Sleeping Cat"?
My cat's sleeping appearance was much worse, and it was funny, and it was as stylish as Kuniyoshi Utagawa's cat, but it was not a beautiful sleeping figure like Snow White, but from the defenseless sleeping posture, I felt the vitality of the lively life, and I longed for its true appearance.
《About the technique》
In order to express the scenes in everyday life as a peaceful space like a paradise, we value "light and full of colors".
Using bright and light paints with powder-like fine particles such as "white" and "No. 13" of rock paint,
By layering them thinly, we create a screen filled with tasteful colors and light colors.

Nozomi Okamoto Web Solo Exhibition Cat's Eye Tale ~Paradise Beyond the Eyes~
For me, the act of painting (creating) is to continue to pursue my longing (dream).
When I was a child, I drew and imagined the world of dream stories such as what I wanted to become, the house I wanted to live in, and the end of the universe on white paper.
Even in my current work, the basis of my paintings is to depict "Togengo" as a theme as a dream story.
In the first place, the paradise originated from the world where there are people who live peacefully and peacefully deep in the mountains where peach blossoms bloom, away from the secular world depicted in Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Origin".
This time, the theme is "cats" and "paradise", but at first glance, I think it seems that there is no connection. However, when I look at the lives of cats (especially domestic cats), I feel that there is something close to a paradise in the calm and relaxed appearance of cats that sleep and eat as much as they want every day, live freely without flattering humans, and are not bound by anything.
Also, Togengo is a place that cannot be reached as long as you are alive in this world. I also feel that longing for the life of a cat itself is similar to thinking about a paradise.
I hope that you will feel the paradise where time flows peacefully away from the mundane world from the appearance and gaze of the cat, and also feel the loveliness of the cat itself, and feel calm.
