Since its opening in 1976, as reflected in the French name VIVANT, meaning "lively," we have worked to introduce domestic and international artists and to showcase historical records from all times and places, as well as as a place to share fresh energy. Additionally, for about 30 years, we introduced kaleidoscopes, which had not yet been explored in Japan, as new works of art. As we kept moving forward, we were able to reach our 50th anniversary. We will continue to introduce various things as we did our original intention.
