Thank you for visiting the web solo exhibition NEO*BUTHUGA.
What kind of image do you have when you think of "Buddhist paintings"? People who see it for the first time all say, 'I didn't expect it to be so vivid and beautiful' and 'I thought it was darker and smelly!' Another time, when I saw the characters in Buddhist paintings, I was asked, "Is it a French painting?" Awareness of the genre of Buddhist painting is still low! This is my impression so far.
The traditional Japanese techniques that have been passed down for more than 1,000 years and the matte beauty of Japan's unique paints (mizu-dry) (rock paints) stimulate not only Japanese sensibilities but also many people from overseas.
Many of the materials are from nature, such as soil, shells, and rocks, and the colors kneaded from these materials have different wavelengths for each color. It is said that the combination of colors makes you feel comfortable and improves your physical condition. I feel that wavelength and draw while thinking about harmony.
We hope that you will enjoy the difference between both a restored copy and an original art work using an old technique (halo). Above all, it is said to be an auspicious thing since ancient times. Please take your time to take a look. Thank you for staying with us until the end.
