An artist and designer pursuing the fusion of traditional Japanese spirituality and contemporary design.
The infinite expansiveness and transparency of the ancient Japanese philosophy of "Kuu," and the tranquility and refined aesthetic sense of Zen (Zen). Reinterpreting these not merely as forms but as contemporary art that deeply resonates with contemporary lifestyles,
I elevate it into my work.
At the core of my work are carefully selected traditional Japanese materials. Utsunomiya Otani stone, famous for being loved by Frank Lloyd Wright, Tochigi leather beautifully aged over time, and Fuji Kinbai canvas imbued with the spirit of artisans. Each material is assembled to create a dialogue between the historical context and unique texture of each material, creating a one-of-a-kind worldview.
In today's ever-accelerating modern society, the work aims to be a 'sanctuary of silence where souls should return.' The shadows of the sand patterns and the presence of the stones painted by karesansui also serve as mirrors reflecting the viewer's heart. With an eye on expansion not only domestically but also into overseas markets including Asia, we aim to clearly communicate the value of the expressions we create to the world. My mission is to pass on the tradition of Japanese beauty, passed down through generations, to the future. Through a single work, we hope to deliver deep tranquility and rich empty space to your space.
